Kura No Naka

Jeremy brought me and gwen to clarke quay for dinner after picking us up from bugis on sat, halloweens night.

The place is called Kura No Nake, which means ‘treasure in a quay’. Its located at Allson Hotel, Clarke Quay.

The place is run by this 3 japanese sister, which happen to be hot kawaii babes (tht’s according to Jeremy). But anyway the place looks good and is patronised by a lot of Japanese customers. (I think we were the only local chinese in the entire restaurant when we were there).

We were all up for Sashimi and our waitress, which in my opinion came across as very pushy, recommended us the 8 sashimi combo selection.

The 8 selections includes

Maguro - Tuna
Chu Toro - Tuna Belly
Aji Tataki - Horse Mackeral
Tai Sashi - Sea Bream
Uni - Sea Urchin
Amaebi - Sweet Prawn
Katsuo Tataki - Bonito
Hamachi - Yellowtail

We also ordered some side dishes:

— > marinated beef tenderloins cubes on hot plate
—> sizzling tofu with melted cheese
—> teriyaki cod fish
—> shabu shabu

The sashimi wasn’t that fantastic though… the sashimi I had with Wen at Robertson Quay was better. But at least I finally tried the Uni, and I especially love the Aji and Katsuo, especially taken with some Sake….lovely.

I normally do not fancy sake but the Sake that Jeremy order was very nice indeed. Very sweet and not too strong. Its called ‘Pa Hai San’. Gwen helped me translated it in English, which means ‘eight sea mountain’. I so so love that sake and i swear i’ll go hunt for it on my next Japan flight.

So overall, Jeremy’s fav dish was the shabu shabu, Gwen’s fav dish was the yellowtail sashimi and amaebi and mine was the SAKE…. yes yes..i’m such an alcoholic.
